Claude Albert Levesque

Claude Levesque was born in Ottawa on July 10, 1940 the son of Rolland Levesque and Marie-Jeanne St Jacque. He joined the Ottawa Fire Department on January 4, 1960. He married Claire St. Denis and they had four children Johanne, Helene, Richard and Daniel this was his first passion and he was a devoted family man.. Claude was a very physically active person who played racquetball for many years as a member of the Ottawa Athletic Club. He was in very good condition and loved the game of golf. Claude was an original member of the Ottawa Fire Department Band and was an accomplished trumpeter and musician playing also the organ and accordion, which he played mostly for his family. He was a member of the group Les Chantes- Clair de Champlain who sang for seniors and hospital groups,

Claude retired on January 31, 1997

He contracted brain cancer and although he fought it valiantly he succumbed to the disease.

The death was ruled a line of duty by Workers Safety and Injury Board prior to his death.

He was Captain of Number 6 Station (57) on the Department and very well respected by his peers.
